61 – Biohacking 101

We speak with Serge Faguet about biohacking.

The lowest hanging fruit is, of course, sleep and exercise. Going beyond that, Serge mentioned:
23 And Me for DNA sequencing
Promethease for further DNA analysis
Life Extension Foundation for supplements
Oura Ring for sleep analysis

Three deep-dive articles by him:
I’m 32 and spent $200k on biohacking.
How to biohack your intelligence|
How I set and execute 50-year goals

We are not medically trained and this is not medical advise. Take responsibility for your own hacking.

Big thanks to David for our intro music! I’ll add a link here for his stuff when I track it down. 🙂

We’d like to thank creators of our new outro music from the Sumerki Project! Check out their stuff here!

    Ethics of recruitment:
Hey guys, what do you think of when you hear the word “rationalist”? I think cults rarely adopt as a central doctrine the idea that people make mistakes all the time, including with regard to ideas they hold very dearly and confidently. I don’t see any ethical problem with spreading that message, so long as rationalists apply rationalism to rationalism. Maybe I would stop short of using coercive persuasion techniques to “spread the gospel” of how to detect and deflect coercive persuasion techniques. If our recruitment effort results in creating fundamentalist or dogmatists of any sort, we’re doing it wrong.

I think it should also be noted that Serge recommended Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker (https://www.amazon.com/Why-We-Sleep-Unlocking-Dreams/dp/1501144316).
