62 – Stoic Chatter and RatChat!

This episode is a bit unusual in that our pre-recording mic check conversation sort of kept going into a conversation we felt was worth sharing. We redacted some of the personal identifiable info and names of actual people, so if the conversation earlier on sounds sort of disjointed, that’s because it is. πŸ˜‰

Steven also didn’t start moderating his freakishly fast speaking speed until a while into the episode. Sorry for those of you who listen to the show at a fast rate. πŸ˜‰

All cops are bastards. I work for an ambulance and work closely with lots of good cops. However their job is to enforce government control and order via the states Monopoly of violence. Even the good ones have to enforce terrible rules made by terrible political types.

I feel bad for cops. The job selection process takes young, idealistic, inflexible people.
Imagine the kinda kid that never smoked weed in highschool? Now, imagine him trying to make high speed complicated morality decisions. It’s tough. They aren’t suited to that kinda work.

The job breaks them. They join up to protect and serve, and then get battered by reality of enforcing an unjust order and the constant threat of danger.

PTSD and poor coping mechanisms are the rule not the exception.

And that’s the good apples. I feel bad for them. I really do.

I have done enough mushrooms to be a good cop, but also that means I can’t be a good cop. As an ambulance I have had to physically fight a few cops to protect my patient. Which is a real bad idea you know.

Society got by okay before cops were invented I am sure we could come up with a rational system that works better.

I would be interested to hear if you can get around to talking to an alt left guy. I would be into hearing you interface with that the way you guys are with the reddit suggested alt right guys if you can book a Chapo trap house or a street fight guy for a call in that’d be amazing.

Somehow this comment didn’t hit our usual inbox for comments.

I hear what you’re saying about the work police officer’s do wrecking them as people. You’ve probably met more cops than I have, but I’ve met several chill cops with decades of experience under them. Maybe it was a nicer neighborhood or something.

How do you imagine people got by before some sort of police force came around? I imagine gangs of mercenaries willing to protect people for money. An alternative might be making everyone fight for themselves. Maybe I’m being naive, but there are a lot of people who are deterred from breaking the law because the laws are enforced. If there weren’t enforcers, who would the average citizen call on to help with something or to show up to a crime?

What sort of person is an alt left person? The closest I can think of are SJW types.

      Thanks for writing in.

A lot of the poor classroom experiences are fixed by giving schools more money so they hire more and keep better teachers. More teachers means a better teacher:student ratio which allows for teachers to spend more time on each individual student. Provided this is all assuming more money for schools doesn’t go towards bonuses for administrators.

As to students not having any output/impact on their environment ( I don’t remember how you guys worded it), this is exactly what extra curricular activities are for. Whether its a sports thing, art, debate, scholastic bowl, music, drama, whatever, these are things that give students meaning and things to look forward to while they are in school. They also provide incentives to actually attend class and thrive.

As for JP, after the major turn off that was the discussion he had with Harris where he couldn’t define what “objective truth” was, what really solidified that he is a charlatan that shouldn’t be listened to was his talk with Matt Dillahunty. Watching him completely avoid answering direct questions, and getting applause breaks for doing so made it seem like he’s a cult leader. Fuck that guy.
