I’ve listened to every episode of The Bayesian Conspiracy, and am a big fan of rationalist discussion. After listening to The Mind Killer, episode 1, and part of episode 2, I thought Wesley and Eneasz did a great job, even when I disagreed with their arguments. However, I hate to say it, but David added little to the episodes, and detracted much from interesting or intelligent conversation. I’m sorry for being so blunt, but I don’t know how else to say it: before you risk turning off all your potential listeners for this new podcast, I strongly encourage you to find an alternate host to represent David’s political position. He’s painful to listen to.

I would disagree with this assessment. David certainly has the most extreme positions, but I don’t think he is contributes any more or less than the other hosts. If anything I find myself hoping David would comment *more* than he already does about certain issues if that’s even possible.

This may be the warned “mind-killing” effect of politics, so I would be wary of any solution to a perceived problem of the show that required such a dramatic solution as kicking off a host. Optimally, one would list problems with the host’s rationality and suggested corrections the host could make.
