I wanna take a swing at steelmanning the tweet:
Basically, something we all already agree on in multiple domains is that abnormality is intrinsically stigmatized in our culture: “Don’t stigmatize weirdness” is actually so much harder to renorm than “stop thinking that thing is weird.” that in practice it is always the practical thing to do to make the thing not weird.
But also, dichotomies are fundamentally weird making: the only way both ends of a dichotomy can be considered normal, is if both ends of the dichotomy are considered “basically the same thing”. That’s why we got Brown v Board and Love is Love, to basically collapse the dichotomy into triviality so that both sides are normal.
The tweet is P(dooming) about the fact that A: She thinks collapsing the dichotomy between tendersexuality and cnc would be Bad, for reasons you have already gone over, but that if you preserve the dichotomy *It will necessarily follow that making cnc the “normal” end of the dichotomy will make tendersexuality at least locally”weird”.* And because weirdness in our society is so hard to destigmatize, tendersexual people will either have to suck it up and accept non-consensual cnc into their life or become stigmatized.And so until you can think of solutions to this problem, she is advocating for not normalizing cnc, because you’re actually advocating for stigmatizing tendersexuality whether you intend to or not.

The reason leftists are always critiquing liberals is because liberals are very frequently doing the thing where post-rats say that believing in the supernatural isn’t irrational it’s just reacting to your local incentive landscape, but you do it to corporations who are considered to have the power to change the local incentive landscape if they want to.
